A Wedding in Vienna, Austria

What could be more romantic than a wedding in a palace in Vienna? Perhaps if you add light snow, horse drawn carriages and one of the most romantic paintings in the world. . . then you would have Heather and Gary's fairytale wedding in at the Belvedre Palace in Vienna, Austria.

This fun loving and SUPER sweet British couple decided to have their intimate wedding in Vienna after getting engaged there the year before. When they contacted me to photograph it I was thrilled and it was all even more photogenic than I imagined (as were the beautiful bride and groom!).

In their words the whole evening was just "lovely."

Lee and Jaci's Wedding

I LOVE weddings in November! Just as the weather starts to turn cold here in Bozeman but it's not quite ski season and no longer hiking/ biking season it can sometimes seem like a slow/ quiet time of year but a wedding can change all that. Lee and Jaci's wedding was anything but slow and quiet- these two and their friends and family were a blast!
Their wedding at the Holy Rosary Church followed by the reception at the Baxter was filled with laughter, love and dancing. Everyone was breaking down at the reception, including Lee's grandmother- who may have had the best moves of the bunch!
I felt so lucky to be a part of this special wedding and hope that Lee and Jaci have a great time in Hawaii- I'm very jealous!

Dena and Jeremy's Wedding

Dena and Jeremy are so cute! When I met this sweet couple several months ago, I just enjoyed their company so much and knew that their wedding would be special- and it was! Dena held so tightly to Jeremy's hand during the ceremony and he looked so deeply into her eyes that I don't think either of them noticed anyone else in the church!

Their friends and family are equally as sweet. I really enjoyed getting to know some of the bridesmaids and groomsmen and loved how they were up for anything wen we took the group portraits. The guys even agreed to hold hands and spin in a circle! Now those are some good friends!

It was a beautiful fall day here in Bozeman and I think Dena and Jeremy are in for many, many beautiful days to come.

Thanks for having me there to document your wedding day Dena and Jeremy and I hope to see you soon!

Erin and Tyler's Wedding

I left Bozeman for Miles City in the middle of our first snowstorm of the season, but by the time I got to Miles City (a four hour drive that took almost six in the snow!) the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a wedding.
I met Erin and her eight (yes, eight!) bridesmaids at a local hair salon which was all decorated for the three bridal parties getting ready there that day. It was all so fun that I was ready to move to Miles City.
The groomsmen in the meantime were gathered around the TV watching the Griz game, which the Griz won at the last minute. They were all such a fun group and were genuinely excited to watch Erin and Tyler tie the knot.
The reception had every one up and dancing- I even got spun around the dance floor a few times! What a great night- I'm so glad I got a chance to be a part of it.

Julie and Derek's Wedding

Golden Aspen trees, blue skies, BIG families and a lot of laughter- that's how I will remember Derek and Julie's beautiful mountain wedding in Vail Colorado. The bride was even more beautiful than the setting and watching the groom smile at her it was obvious he felt the same way.
Julie, the bride, is one of four girls and their father is the only son in a family of eight children, so there was a lot of gentle teasing for the father of the bride who has always been surrounded by so many wild women!

The party went well into the night and everyone was sad to see the night come to an end- so was I! Julie and Derek thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of this special event!

Bridget and Pat's Wedding

When Bridget called me about shooting her and Pat's wedding at the 320 Ranch in Big Sky she asked specifically about my experience working with horses. She and Pat live on a ranch in eastern Montana and love horses and they wanted to be sure to have nice images of the traditional horse drawn carriage that would be transporting them to and from the ceremony.

I assured her that I would get many photos of the horses and carriage and that I did have experience with horses. I actually spent one summer during college driving horse-drawn carriages in Charleston, South Carolina!

The wedding day couldn't have been more beautiful with fluffly white clouds in a bright blue sky. Bridget and Pat exchanged their vows alongside the Gallatin River and then the horse-drawn carriage to them the the guests back to the lodge for the celebration feast!

I enjoyed every minute of this intimate and well planned wedding, thank you!

Maura and Brandon's Wedding

Maura and Brandon are so easy to like that after shooting their wedding I feel like I've known them for ever. Their wedding in Big Sky reflected their easy going nature and their connections to their families.

The preist who performed the ceremony actually performed the wedding ceremony for Maura's parents thirty years ago! This was so special that I found myself wiping tears away a few times during the ceremony.

The reception followed at the beautiful 320 Ranch and I was reminded once again that people from Butte (where Maura is from) can party! Everyone was having such a great time (me included!) that the night just flew by.

I hope to see you both again soon- thanks for having me be a part of this fun day!

Rose and Jake's Wedding

Rose and Jake are old friends and so I was honored when they asked me to come back to New England to shoot their wedding. They are both such fun people; in fact, Rose might be one of the funniest people I've ever met. So I knew that their wedding would be a great time- and it truly was.

It was a beautiful August day. They got married under a chupa after signing the traditional Jewish wedding contract. Then their was dancing to the reggae band and lots of fun for everyone.

I had such a good time and I was so happy to get to see other old friends that my husband and I used to work with, that I almost forgot I was working! However, the pictures look beautiful and I think really reflect the spirit and love between this wonderful couple.

Have a great time in Belize on your honeymoon and a love and happy life together!

The Surprise Wedding!

Imagine being a bride and not having to plan a thing. Your finance simply asks you to marry him and then tells you to leave the planning to HIM! That's exactly what happened with Jeff and Mary Beth and ever since I got his call a few months back telling me about his plans for their wedding, I was excited to meet them and shoot their wedding.

The family affair took place at the stunning Big EZ Lodge in Big Sky. This was my first time up there and I was blown away. Add to that three fantastic kids and a happy couple and you have a very beautiful wedding to shoot. I felt very lucky to be a part of their special day.

They even invited my husband and I to share their champagne and cake after dinner! Mary Beth and Jeff, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for allowing me to document you wonderful wedding day!

Trish and Matt's Wedding

Oh, nothing gets me crying like a groom who gets teary-eyed and Matt almost did me in! From the moment this groom saw his beautiful bride, the tears started flowing making the intimate ceremony even more touching.

Trish and Matt had planned a wonderful evening and they were surrounded by loving families and friends, that I felt like I had known forever by the time the night ended. I even got several hugs from people I had just met that day!

I think with all that love for each other and the loving people they have in their lives Trish and Matt are well on their way to "Happily Ever After"

Have a great honeymoon in Mexico!

Mary Beth and Doug's Wedding

I had a wonderful time at this family wedding which took place at the bride's family's ranch in Cardwell, Montana. I love big families and Mary Beth has a BIG, good-natured family who helped the very happy couple celebrate in style. Doug's family also took a big part in the day with his brother and sister-in-law performing the wedding ceremony!

The ceremony didn't begin until 8 o'clock, reminding me how lucky we are with light in the middle of the summer out here in Montana. By the time we took group pictures in the field out back after the ceremony the light was warm and lovely and I got some pretty sunset shots of Mary Beth and Doug.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet both these families and shoot this special day. Best of luck to you both!

Stephanie and Andrew's Wedding

Wow! Every detail of this wedding was so perfectly and lovingly planned I couldn't help but take pictures of all the little things. However, what was truly the most wonderful part of the event was the love Stephanie and Andrew had for each other.

Clearly the other wedding guests were swept up in the love too and a good time was had by all. During the reception a full moon rose over the mountains creating a even more storybook atmosphere to the evening.

Stephanie and Andrew's families and friends all came from out of town to enjoy a Montana summer wedding and I think many of them may return!
Enjoy the rest of your time in Montana Stephanie and Andrew and thank you for having me at your wedding!

Mandy and Jason's Wedding

Mandy and Jason's wedding was a great time this past weekend. They both were surrounded by friends and family who danced and laughed the night away. Mandy is one of FOUR girls so I enjoyed watching the sister's laugh and joke with each other- good luck to you Jason with all those girls!

The wedding ceremony was beautiful and the rain held off long enough for the ceremony to finish. The rain shower was short and sweet and the rest of the evening was absolutely beautiful.

As always, Chum and Sally Howe at Springhill were delightful to work with. Anyone getting married at the Springhill Pavilion is in for a real treat because these two wonderful people go out of their way to make sure each wedding is special up there.

Enjoy your honeymoon Mandy and Jason!

Michelle and Nick's Engagement

It is always wonderful to see a couple so in love that they radiate happiness. That's how I felt today when I met Michelle and Nick today for their engagement session. I am shooting their wedding in July and so it was great to meet them and hear about their wedding plans.

I am certain that it will be a special wedding because of their obvious devotion to each other and I am so excited that I will have a chance to document that!

We met up at Pete's Hill and took advantage of the beautiful green landscape and wild flowers that come up at this time of year.

Annie and Chad's Wedding

What a blessed event! Annie had told me when we met back in in April, that she of course wanted to have a beautiful wedding but what was most important to her and Chad was the marriage. The ceremony was the most central part of the day for them both.

So I wasn't too surprised to see so many tears during their well-planned and faith filled ceremony where they both vowed to make their solid faith the center of their marriage. I even had to put the camera down for a second to wipe away a tear!

However, the wedding was indeed beautiful from the bluebird skies (in May!) to the flowers and cake to the dancing at the reception. Everyone seemed swept away in the fun and excitement of the day.

Have fun in the Caribbean on your honeymoon Annie and Chad and thank you for having me be a part of your special day!

March of Dimes Walk

I had the opportunity to take pictures at the March of Dimes Walk here in Bozeman. This walk raises money for premature babies. It was a fun day filled with children and laughter and the good feeling that comes from contributing and helping out others in some way.

Businesses and individuals from all over Montana participated and thousands of dollars were raised. I feel lucky that I had the chance to contribute something to this day.

Annie's Bridal Portraits

What a wonderful morning! I met the lovely and graceful bride-to-be, Annie, to take some pre-wedding bridal portraits of her.

The snow was falling heavily when we met this morning so we ended up taking most of the portraits inside the Emerson Center in downtown Bozeman. This was perfect because the Emerson is where Annie and her finance, Chad met.

It was wonderful to meet Annie and her sister Eliza and to hear about the wedding details. I look forward to meeting Chad and to shooting their wedding in May.
